Siemens & Deutsche Bahn Want to trial Hydrogen-Powered Trains


Germany is looking to seriously reduce carbon emissions. Consequently, two companies are proposing to start testing hydrogen propelled trains. These are an advanced technology form of trains. Capable of removing the need for 1000+ diesel engines in current service. Consequently, they are determined to run carbon emissions-free trains in the near future. As a result, whether it is by electricity or hydrogen-powered by batteries and cells. They will be renewable clean energy-driven trains that is important. There has been a previous attempt through teaming up with a French company. A resulting monopoly potential was too great. Thus authorities stopped it from going further. Subsequently, however the need for such large gains from carbon-free forms of transport. Has focused the mind to start and materialise this potential in trying through other means.
