The legendary horror game might be back to haunt us yet again.
Even though the Silent Hill franchise was canceled by publisher Konami in 2015, the fans never lost hope for eventual revival. Hideo Kojima was once set to direct the new chapter with Guillermo del Toro: he even released a playable teaser titled P.T. and starring a character based on Norman Reedus. Kojima since parted ways with Konami, and the official Silent Hill domain was deserted by the company.
But according to very recent rumors from trusted insiders, Silent Hill shows the signs of life again. One of the insiders, who goes by the names AestheticGamer and Dusk Golem, posted a series of fresh rumors on his Twitter account.
It is being said that the next Silent Hill entry will be developed exclusively for PlayStation 5 by Sony Japan Studios, with series creator Keiichiro Toyama. Masahiro Ito and Akira Yaomoka are supposed to be back. The game already has a playable build, which demo will be demonstrated after the official comeback reveal. As for franchise ownership, Sony has not acquired it from Konami.
